At Framestore, I modeled the exterior London environment for Flite, Tim Webber's short film made in Unreal Engine, including its buildings, urban props and a vehicle I designed
As the modeler assigned to London, I shaped the film's exterior cityscape, from the buildings to the smaller urban props that fill the streets. Alongside the environment, I designed one of the vehicles and created low polygon versions of all the vehicles, including the futuristic hoverboard, as well as of the police officer character
For the glass building, I added subtle sculpted detail in ZBrush to give its surfaces more character
The main production challenge was preparing the city for assembly in Unreal Engine. I divided the buildings into reusable assets so they could be instanced across the environment while keeping the scene manageable. I also contributed to the layout of the environment
I worked in Maya and ZBrush. Flite was an opportunity to bring film modeling standards into a real-time pipeline, where every asset had to balance visual detail and efficiency
